CSS will habilitate 17 hemodialysis facilities around the country

According to the director of the Social Security Administration (CSS), Guillermo Sáez Llorens, services directed towards the 1,059 hemodialysis patients with renal failure will radically change thanks to the hemodialysis project being executed by the CSS over the next 52 months. 17 hemodialysis facilities will be rehabilitated throughout Panama, of which 4 will be remodeled and 13 will be built.
He indicated that the project will include the incorporation of 311 new machines with the latest technology, which will be distributed throughout all the facilities, to provide services nationwide to 1,656 patients for a period of 52 months, guaranteeing the elimination of early morning shifts for patients.
He revealed that the contract with IBT Medical Outsourcing Services, for a total of $126,341,068 Balboas, will reduce costs, which currently are $2,269 Balboas per patient, and includes all new infrastructure, new hemodialysis machines, medical products, disposables, and software.
