New Bugaba Hospital will satisfy medical needs

The new hospital in Bugaba, one of the largest health projects being built in the Chiriqui Province, is 32% complete.  The work is being executed by IBT Group at a cost of $35 million dollars.

Raul Cedeño, representative for IBT Group, indicated that the project will include not only construction, but also the equipping of different areas with the latest advances in medical equipment.

"One of the primary technologies that the hospital will include will be long distance medicine, in which patients medical exams will be sent digitally to specialists in Panama, who will them have the opportunity to study the case and provide an opinion without the patient having to be transported to the capital."

The hospital will include 133 beds and medical specialists offering services in tomography, radiography, momography, hemodialysis, external consults, emergency services, morgue, neonatology, laboratories, blood banks, among others.

Pablo Vargas, a deputy for the district of Bugaba, maintained that through this project, the population of the district has benefited from new employment as well, being that 90% of the construction work is being performed by the local population.
